A51 has Partnered with Wasserman + Partners Advertising to Develop a Website for ICBC's Drive Smart Campaign
August 1, 2011 — A51 was involved in developing the online functionality for the ‘drive smart’ campaign for Vancouver–based insurance company, ICBC (The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia), in partnership with Wasserman + Partners Advertising. Wasserman + Partners Advertising took reigns of the design and marketing for the campaign, while A51 was sanctioned to develop ICBC’s drive smart web site.
ICBC’s drive smart campaign is an initiative designed to support safe and courteous driving habits, encouraging drivers to thank others with a wave when they are shown driver courtesy. Drivers are asked to log onto the ICBC drive smart site, and share a wave they have either given or received, including details, and their location. Sharing a wave online, enters the driver into a contest for a grand prize of a 2012 Fiat 500.
A51’s specific role on the development side, was to create a location–integrated web application using Google maps. Users can enter any address in the province of British Columbia and the location and name of their 'wave' will be displayed on the Google map. Waves can then be viewed either in map or satellite view, the user can zoom in or out, and can drag–and–drop the map to move the view in a different direction.
