gotoAndPlay Selects A51 to Develop Demo for New SmartFoxServer 2X Product

October 15, 2010 — A51 has been selected by gotoAndPlay to design an Adobe Air application to highlight some of the new features of the upcoming SmartFoxServer 2X product. With A51’s long history of working with SmartFoxServer products, A51 was honoured to have been chosen for this project. A51 will be developing a working sample application, a multi–player Space Racing game demo, to be included in gotoAndPlay’s documentation for their server — to showcase the newest feature of User Datagram Protocol (UDP).

“We are tremendously honoured and thrilled to have been chosen for this project,” said Wayne Helman, President, A51 Integrated. “We’ve worked with SmartFoxServer for years and are excited to test out and demonstrate the new features of 2X.”

The application will be designed as a fast–paced, up–to–four–player, futuristic racing game taking place in real–time, with a top–down view and a scrolling circuit that moves with the space racer when the vehicle drives. The Space Race will showcase the newest feature of SmartFoxServer 2X, User Datagram Protocol. UDP allows for smooth game play with the ability to verify a player’s vehicle positioning accurately in a multi–user setting.

The demo will be available with the official release of SmartFoxServer 2X, shipped with the product and accessible on the SmartFoxServer website, and will include a full walk–through document also created by A51. The documentation will illustrate the thought–process behind the application, and the steps required to replicate the application. No exact date has been set for the release of SmartFoxServer 2X. It is expected to go through a series of releases: public beta, release candidate and final.
